Motorola’s Droid Razr faces Apple’s most popular smartphone to date, again. New videos appear in YouTube.
Yet another Droid Razr vs iPhone 4S video to serve you.
If you’re following all the news about the Droid Razr, then you are aware of the fact that the new Moto smartphone is facing heavyweight rivals this month from Apple and also from the Android ecosystem like the Galaxy Nexus and the HTC Rezound. Can the Droid Razr compete?
A video posted by Smartphone Envy features the Droid Razr alongside the iPhone 4S, Apple’s new dual-core iPhone with the novelty app Siri and 8-megapixel camera. See the half an hour video comparison below this article.
Apparently, Motorola is using two popular brand names just to catch the attention of the consumers (and to challenge Apple and Samsung). One, the Razr branding which is the most popular phone brand of the company to date. Two, the Droid branding owned by LucasFilm but being used by Verizon to differentiate its Android offerings from other wireless carriers.
Almost all reviews say the Droid Razr’s weakness is its screen, the Super AMOLED screen with qHD resolution largely due to today trend which is 720p HD. New smartphones like the Galaxy Nexus (which is still not available in Verizon) and the new HTC Rezound are offering the “new standard” which has more pixels per inch or ppi and on par with Apple’s popular Retina display.
Some of the compelling features of the Droid Razr that the reviews may have overlooked are: thin profile, LTE and upgrade-ready to Android Ice Cream Sandwich. For starters, the Droid Razr is thinner than the Galaxy S II of Samsung and the iPhone 4S of Apple. The phone’s thinnest point is measured at 7.1 mm but the phone features a hump where the 8-megapixel camera and ports are located. The phone is also upgradeable to Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and Motorola said the much-needed push is scheduled “early next year.” Here in USA, the Droid Razr is offering the LTE or Long Term Evolution which is technically faster than the conventional 3G HSPA+.
