New iPhone 5 and iPad 3 rumors are talking about the iOS code and the component suppliers.
Not into buying the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 because you want the iPhone 5 and the iPad 3? Here are some of the new unverified news invading the Apple-centric technology world.
Well, it looks like there are reasons to wait for the next iPhone and iPad based on the new rumors circulating on the internet during the past week. According to a new leak posted online, Apple is now preparing for the iPhone 5 and the iPad 3.
According to 9to5Mac, new Apple devices have been uncovered in the developer beta build of iOS 5.1, and the next iPhone is called iPhone 5 and the next iPad is called the iPad 3. Surprised? It is worth noting that the iPhone 4S was first uncovered by sites using the previous developer builds of the iOS, so it is highly possible that the new evidences are accurate too. Is it possible that the next big iOS build, the iOS 5.1, is the start of the next-gen Apple devices?
Apparently, rumors have surfaced last week that Japan-based companies are building the touchscreen for the next iPhone, or the iPhone 5, and the screen will be bigger than the current model which is the iPhone 4S with the 3.5-inch touchscreen.
One report said Hitachi Displays, Ltd. and Sony Mobile Display Corporation have started shipping 4-inch displays for the new iOS device, and due to the display’s smartphone-friendly size, sites are speculating that it is the screen of the next iPhone. New and old Android devices sport 4 to 5-inch full color touchscreen, so it is more likely that Apple would be willing to give up its tiny 3.5-inch smartphone drama to compete against the growing number of larger and popular smartphones. Apple’s new rival, the Galaxy Nexus, is sporting a large 4.65-inch screen with Retina-like (326 ppi) resolution of 310 ppi. For starters, that’s very close and it will be hard to see the difference.
The new iOS 5.1 developer beta build also includes the iPad 3, the supposed next-gen Apple tablet PC which could include a better screen and better cameras. The iPad 2 was launched by Apple last April, so the same release month is possible based on the history of Apple’s product cycles.
Other rumors about the new iPad 3 said it will include a Sharp-made LCD panel and Apple is expected to launch the new tablet early next year. The reports added that Sharp is already supplying iPhone LCD panels, adding that the next iPhone will also arrive next year (which is obvious).
Apple is still the tablet PC market leader based on multiple data provided by research firms, while Google Android-based tablets are getting “some” share, but still far from Apple’s impressive numbers. But here’s the catch, Google has launched a new operating system that will power the smartphones and tablets, and early reviews say the new platform is beautiful, more powerful and “less fragmented” because it combines the power of the older Google mobile platforms, the Gingerbread for smartphones and Honeycomb for tablets.
The new Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and the set of new smartphones and tablets running the said operating system, are expected to arrive early next year so it looks like Apple’s iPad 3 will face a “more serious” rivals compared to last year’s device dramas (like the Motorola Xoom).
Can the iPad 3 help Apple in maintaining the lead?
