Two new news about the Galaxy Nexus, the Adobe Flash and Air support and the volume bug. Are these two related to the rumored delay of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus?
Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Nexus is not yet available, and it looks like the new updates regarding the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone are related to the rumored “delay.”
According to reports, Adobe is poised to release the Flash and Air for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Adobe said in a blog post that they will release a minor software update next month which will include the Adobe Flash Player 11.1 and AIR 3.1 support for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Adobe explained, “Devices and software updates from our partners which introduce new technologies are being developed on varied schedules that are different from our own, which means that the Adobe runtimes may not always be optimized or supported on devices until a subsequent release.”
No word yet from Adobe about the exact release date, but it looks like the Adobe Flash is one of the reasons why Verizon Wireless is not yet releasing the device. If I’m not mistaken, majority of Android advertisements boast about the operating system’s Adobe Flash support (to compete against the iPhone), and adding the Adobe Flash support before the release could be the business strategy being played by Verizon Wireless.
Speaking of strategy, new reports say Google is expected to release a new software update next week that will fix the volume bug plaguing the owners of the Galaxy Nexus in United Kingdom. ”We’re currently rolling out a fix for the volume issue which will reach everyone in the coming week,” says Google in a statement. Apparently, the volume bug is a “very serious” bug so it is highly possible that the delay of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus is also related to it.
