Google Music challenges iTunes, adds Google+

Google announces its music store, to compete against Apple’s iTunes.

Search engine giant Google announces on Wednesday the new Google Music, a music distribution store that will compete against Apple’s iTunes and Microsoft’s Zune.
The new music store is the product of the beta music service offered by the search engine giant that allows users to upload music files to the cloud, and play it using PC, mobile web browser or native application.
The new Google Music service is now integrated with the Android Market, and similar to the Books and Movies, Google’s new store will start selling music via the platform’s official application store and users living in United States can purchase songs using the same credit/debit card.
Google also announces the exciting feature included in the new music service: the ability to share music through Google+ for free. The free sharing offering will allow Google Music users with Google+ account to share the songs to the cloud, and the user’s friends can listen to the song for free.
T-Mobile USA is Google’s partner with the Google Music service. According to the wireless carrier, it will offer free music songs daily and subscribers can purchase songs and the charges will be included to their cellphone bill. Aside from the Music service, T-Mobile also revealed that 90% of the smartphones running on their network are Android-based, indirectly suggesting that BlackBerry and Windows Phone platforms have single-digit market share.
Apparently, no T-Mobile Galaxy Nexus was announced today, but the possibility is still high based on the FCC document and non-exclusivity of Verizon Wireless.
According to Google, the Music tab on the Android market will roll out gradually starting today. For more information, visit music.google.com.
