Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus passes through FCC, hints release date?
Yet another reason to celebrate and wait for the 2011 Galaxy phone.
Multiple reports have confirmed that the Verizon Wireless Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus (that’s long) has finally passed through the FCC this week and it means: the release date announcement is up next.
According to the document, the Galaxy Nexus variant for Verizon Wireless (and the only confirmed variant for USA market) shows off the phone codename “SCH-I515.” For starters, the I515 serves as an internal name used by Samsung and/or Verizon.
Anyway, the document also features the LTE or Long Term Evolution antenna or the LTE Band13 which is Verizon-LTE friendly.
So, when’s the release date for the new Galaxy Nexus in United States?
Well, let’s scan the records made by the two other November LTE Android devices of Verizon. It is worth noting though that the dates below are based on records (date of post) made by other news websites.
1. October 19 when the Motorola Droid Razr with LTE Verizon flavor passed through FCC, and after four days, Verizon opened the Razr’s sign-up page to collect e-mails, and on 11-11-11, or 23 days after its FCC document leak (online), the wireless carrier started selling its first November LTE device.
2. On November 3, Verizon opened the sign-up page of the HTC Rezound, that’s four days after the phone’s FCC document was first reported by tech sites. Apparently, Verizon will start selling the HTC Rezound on November 14th, 17 days after the Rezound’s FCC document first appeared online.
October “Galaxy Nexus rumors” say the phone will arrive on November 17 (impossible), November 21 (maybe), November 23 (there’s a possibility) or November 27 (highly possible).
However, a new rumor posted by Droid-Life on Monday is claiming that the Galaxy Nexus release was pushed to December due to “testing delays.”
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will arrive in Europe this week, and Google released the source code of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich on Monday.
