T-Mobile getting a white Samsung Galaxy S II or S2 to rival Apple’s white iPhone 4S.
Customers love choices, including the color of smartphones — and it looks like T-Mobile is aware of the fact that customers want a white high-end Android phone too.
To challenge the white iPhone 4S, Samsung and T-Mobile USA are introducing the white Samsung Galaxy S2. According to the wireless carrier, the new white Samsung phone is scheduled to hit its online store on December 14th sporting the tag price of $229.99 with the two-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
Similar to the original (black) Samsung Galaxy S2, the new white T-Mobile Galaxy S II is powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3, 1GB of RAM and includes 16GB of onboard storage with MicroSD card support. The T-Mobile Galaxy S2 also features 4.52-inch WVGA multitouch Super AMOLED Plus, and two cameras, the front-facing 2MP and the back facing 8MP.
The white Samsung Galaxy S2 is also a “4G” phone, or a smartphone with T-Mobile’s HSPA+.
According to the latest data presented by Canaccord Genuity, the Samsung Galaxy S II is T-Mobile’s most popular smartphone for the month of November, while other wireless carriers hailed the iPhone 4S.
If you’re not a T-Mobile subscriber, AT&T is also offering its own white Galaxy S2, the Galaxy S II Skyrocket.
The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is AT&T’s first Samsung LTE device, and the second Galaxy S II variant of the wireless carrier. In Korea, Samsung is also set to release the white Samsung Galaxy S II LTE.
Samsung is airing an advertisement today to promote the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II and to mock the iPhone 4S, including all the Apple customers who waited in line for hours in front of Apple stores just to buy the new phone. Apparently, the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 commercial shows Android’s flexibility when it comes to music storage and movie purchases.
