The much-anticipated tablet from ASUS is reportedly delayed due to WiFi issues.
A new report posted by Mobile Syrup reveals that ASUS is delaying the launch of the Transformer 2 or Transformer Prime due to WiFi issues, similar to the Kindle Fire?
Well, the report is citing an e-mail from NCIX, claiming that the new tablet might not arrive before the Christmas day, and the delay is not only affecting Canada (where the e-mail originated), but also the United States and other countries because the e-mail says the tablet is delayed “worldwide.”
Apparently, Amazon has decided to drop its own Transformer Prime pre-order program due to inventory issues, but no word about the problem or if Asus is confirming the issue. It is worth noting that other retailers are still accepting pre-orders including the latest online reseller from United Kingdom.
The Asus Transformer Prime is arguably the best Android tablet yet courtesy of Nvidia’s new Tegra 3 CPU, plus the fact that Asus is expected to upgrade the device’s operating system from the Honeycomb 3.2 to the latest Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich which includes a set of new features including the much-needed user experience enhancements related to user interface and applications support.
Aside from the quad-core CPU, the Asus Transformer Prime features an 8-megapixel camera, a front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, and the optional dock that will transform the Android tablet into a conventional laptop or netbook computer.
