iPhone 5 CPU to be made in the US?


From USA with love, Apple’s A5 chip reportedly made in Texas courtesy of Samsung’s new facility. iPhone 5′s A5 or A6 chip with USA flavor now possible.
Apple, known for its Asian partners, generates more revenue due to electronic component and labor — because labor and supplies are cheaper there.


But here’s the change, Apple’s A5 chip which powers the new iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 is now coming from the United States of America, specifically in Texas according to reports.
Apple’s dual-core processor, branded as A5 is now made in an Austin factory operated by South Korea-based company Samsung Electronics.
The new plant has added 1,100 more jobs in the area, and additional reports suggested that additional jobs might come if Samsung will produce the iPhone 5′s SoC there largely due to the expected high demand for the next Apple smartphone. Plus, the next iPad might also include the A5 or A6 chip.
According to rumors, the iPhone 5 might get the same October release date, similar to the iPhone 4S. The mill is also adding that the iPhone 5 might include either the same A5 chip, or a brand new chip which will use the “A6″ branding.
For starters, Apple’s iPhone 4 is powered by A4 chip, while the iPad 2 and the new iPhone 4S with Siri is equipped with the A5 under the hood.
