Social networking site Facebook is set to launch a new ad-centric update early next year.
A new update on Facebook could change the tone of your newsfeed next year.
The new update will obviously give the social networking site another source of income. In fact, it could generate more revenue than the typical Facebook ads featured on the right side of the site’s pages because newsfeed is more “personal.”
According to a report posted by PC Mag, “Sponsored Stories” will start filling in a user’s newsfeed starting next year but a Facebook spokesman said the implementation will be “thoughtfully and slowly” and has clarified that a user will see a sponsored post only “once a day.”
A screenshot was also provided, and the example sponsored post from an advertiser is a photograph of an ice cream cone. Users can like or share the post, and the simple image will transform into a moving advertisement within the Facebook country.
No word yet about the pricing and the exact launch date, but Facebook said the new Sponsored Stories is a better advertisement because it uses the “core” of Facebook’s user experience, the newsfeeed.
So aside from gossiping and posting cat photos, users can now access the latest advertisements from large companies.
