Google Music on Android Market: First hint surfaces

Google’s plan to compete against Apple’s iTunes surfaces, Google Music on Android Market coming soon.
New reports have surfaced, revealing Google’s plan to compete in the music business by selling mp3 songs via Android’s popular application marketplace. The reports are based on Google’s Music Beta website after it was accessed using the Android smartphone’s native web browser.

The “Music.Google.Com” website reportedly gave two options for Google Music users, one for uploading files to Google’s cloud, and the option “B” is for shopping “millions of songs” in the Android Market. The option “B” has been removed, but the screen capture with the clause was posted by multiple web news sites like Techcrunch and Engadget.
It is worth noting that a New York Times article posted this month has confirmed that the search engine giant already met with several music labels to expand its music service by retailing songs.
Google’s open operating system, Android, is currently the most popular smartphone platform in United States with more than 40% market share according to latest statistics, beating Apple’s iOS and other platforms like Microsoft’s Windows Phone and RIM’s BlackBerry.
If true, then Google’s Music Store will be native across all Android devices used within United States and some countries.  Google’s rivals, Apple and Microsoft, are already selling song files, giving the companies additional revenue.
Other companies competing in the mobile music sales are Spotify, the monthly billed service that gives the user access to a wide collection of songs stored in the cloud, and Amazon’s own mp3 store. The retail giant is expected to welcome new customers next month courtesy of the company’s highly subsidized Android-based tablet, the Kindle Fire that will debut on November 16.
Google’s Android Market requires credit card, so if the music store will push through, then buying songs on the Android Market will be using the same credit card used by the Android smartphone or tablet.
