Motorola Mobility launches new website to tease the public more. One image shows the rumored Motorola Droid Razr will feature a kevlar back cover.
Yet another teasing from Motorola Mobility to remind the public that a new RAZR phone will arrive in stores this year, the rumored Motorola Droid Razr. I should note that unlike the older RAZR phones once owned by either your mom or dad, the new Moto phone will include the popular Android operating system. Apparently, Motorola will use the RAZR brand again to attract more customers.
The new website (a subdomain) of Motorola shows off photos (or clues) on what to expect from the October 18th big reveal. Motorola is claiming that the rumored Droid Razr is “thinner, faster, smarter and stronger.”
Thinner is obviously a bold statement coming from a phone manufacturer that offers “thicker phones” like the Droid Bionic and the the Droid X2, the millimeters to beat as of today is 8.8mm by the Samsung Galaxy S II. Faster is quite obvious, because the phone is a Verizon Wireless-exclusive carrier, and the inclusion of the Long Term Evolution or LTE is highly possible. For starters, the LTE technology, according to many tests, is faster than the conventional 3G connection.
Another clue given by Moto is stronger, could be related to the kevlar casing. According to Wikipedia, Kevlar is also called “Poly-paraphenylene terephthalamide” invented in 1964. Kevlar is used by bullet proof vests, just in case you wonder.
The last clue, and most probably the most intriguing is “smarter.” Apparently, the phone will be announced after the unveiling of the rumored Nexus Prime or Galaxy Nexus, the 2011 device that will include the latest version of the Android operating system, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Is it possible that the Droid Razr will include ICS? If not, can Motorola call the Droid Razr a smarter phone if it will use Gingerbread?
