Galaxy S2, iPhone 4S and Droid Razr: Last month’s top phones. The iPhone 4S is the most popular smartphone in the United States last month, followed by the Galaxy S2 and Droid Razr (Verizon). Due to lack of iPhone, Galaxy S2 topped the most popular list of T-Mobile USA. If the new report is to be believed, the iPhone 4S is the most popular smartphone in United States last month based on the number of handsets sold at Verizon Wireless, Sprint and AT&T. According to the report posted by BGR quoting Canaccord Genuity’s data, the iPhone 4S is the best-selling phone for the month of November replacing the Apple iPhone 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S2 of Sprint last September, apparently before the launch of the iPhone 4S two months ago.

T-Mobile, the iPhone-less carrier, reportedly hailed the Galaxy S2 as the most popular smartphone last month indicating that the flagship Samsung phone is indeed very popular not only in Europe and Asia, but also here in United States.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is also the second most popular smartphone of AT&T and Sprint in November. Verizon doesn’t offer the Galaxy S2 so the new Motorola Droid Razr took the second spot under the banner of the big red. HTC’s new HD Android phone failed to beat the Droid Razr and took the third spot only.
Apparently, Verizon Wireless skipped the Galaxy S2 because they will offer the Galaxy Nexus, Samsung’s first HD smartphone here in United States powered by the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Rumors say the device will land here in the US by mid-December sporting the premium $299.99. Unlike the Galaxy Nexus variant of other countries including the variant available in United Kingdom, the Verizon Galaxy Nexus will include LTE or Long Term Evolution which is technically faster compared to the HSPA+.
Speaking of United Kingdom, the Galaxy S2 is also the country’s most popular smartphone beating the iPhone 4S. However, a report is claiming that the surprise defeat was due to Apple’s lackluster supply resulting to retailers failing to keep up with demand.
